Sorry for missing a day on these posts but the last couple of days have been busy, exhausting, but utterly amazing. On Sunday, relative to my timezone, we did some general touring of Ho Chi Minh City. We saw the beautiful arcitecture of the Old Post Office and Notre Dame Church followed by the Re-Unification Palace. Later on in that afternoon several students, including myself, hopped on a bus and traveled an hour outside the city to Cu Chi to visit the network of underground tunnels used by the Vietcom during the Vietnam war. Naturally I've attached images and video of the experience but nothing can truly describe what we saw.
Most people will agree that the Vietnam war was a horrible, messed up event. As an American who didn't experience the war first hand, I've shaped my perspective based on the media available to me in the US. However, I gained true perspective during this trip to the Cu Chi tunnels.
The one of the most amazing parts was the drive itself. Not only were we able to see the rural areas of Vietnam but our guide, Phong, is from Cu Chi and his mom still lives there today. A big fan of the United States, Phong was able to give us a fairly objective recollection of the war as he experienced.

Its true that I, Kev (5ft 4ish) Robertson, cannot stand up in the Cu Chi tunnels.. Many doubters..
